PROJECT & APPLICATION ENGINEER

ROLE PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILTIES

Functions: The Project & Application Engineer (PAE) is responsible to provide technical support to projects, sales and sales operations teams service on irrigation engineering, Lindsay products and after sales service support.

Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Providing Sales Managers and Customer Service teams with technical supportive arguments and specific designs for mechanized irrigation projects
  • Timely attend to dealer network with all technical requests related to Irrigation Application Engineering.
  • Prioritizing attention to task related to orders received from Customer Service and dealer network.
  • Support on dealer training and marketing activities by enhancing existing materials (manuals, brochures, presentations) with scientific justification on use and management of Centre Pivot and Lateral Move irrigation Systems
  • Check to ensure (Reporting) that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems.
  • Ensure all company and departmental policies and safety processes are enforced.
  • Assess general requirements of a project as requested by a client to provide for detailed or high level project estimates.
  • Provide high quality technical justifications in the form of reports on the use and management of irrigation systems in various climates, soil conditions and crops.
  • Develop timely high quality and timely supporting arguments in the form of presentation / technical reports.
  • Assess general requirements of a project as requested by a client to provide for a high-level project budget
  • Adopt and Follow Project Engineering processes and templates for Hydraulic Design and Application Engineering.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Irrigation engineering, soil-water-plant relations, pipeline and pump sizing.
  • Capacity to deal and interpret Hydraulics models.
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent Communication skills, Professional Reports and high standard presentations.
  • Outstanding analytical skills,
  • Excellent Problem-solving skills,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills,
  • Optimal Time Management skills,
  • Ready to learn from others experiences and to provide suggestions to improve processes.
  • Pro-active, ability to work in a fast-paced international team environment
  • Experience and knowledge in Irrigation, hydraulics, hydrology, soil-water-plant relations, physics and mathematics concepts
  • Irrigation Industry knowledge, including competitors. With Strong Technical background.
  • Intensive and Extensive product knowledge related to mechanized irrigation; Center Pivot, Lateral Move, Hose Reel.
  • Technical Degree in Agricultural, Irrigation Engineering or Civil similar
  • Fluent in English language both verbal and written. Additional language would be an advantage.
  • 3-5 years or more experience in field of hydraulic engineering or irrigation engineering or in a related position
