Supervision Exercised: Supervision may be exercised over adjunct faculty and student employees.
Job Summary: Develop, coordinate, and support mechatronics program operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Additional related duties may be assigned.
- Coordinate to maintain the operational integrity and readiness of equipment and laboratory facilities, including setup, routine maintenance, replacement per lifecycle recommendations and recommendation for purchase
- Oversee the implementation of curriculum and activities related to mechatronics.
- Collaborate with the Dean and Program Chair to develop programs of study and class schedules to meet student completion needs, as well as regional employment needs.
- Provide continuous improvement for Mechatronics curriculum through completion of program review processes.
- Collaborate with Dean, Program Chair, and regional employers to develop and incorporate feedback from an Advisory Committee to ensure that the mechatronics program addresses equity and access, as well as relevancy and innovation.
- Collaborate with Dean and Program Chair, as well as Marketing and Communication and Student Services staff, on student recruitment, retention, and completion.
- Maintain safety procedures at all times.
- Attend workshops, training, and meetings related to the program and professional growth.
- Maintain student records and submit College-required documents accurately and on time.
- Assist in work-based placement (e.g., internships, apprenticeships, post-graduation opportunities).
- Teach Mechatronics courses as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Regular attendance is expected; some evening and weekend hours may be required.
- Assist adjunct instructors in the classroom and/or labs as needed.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, students, and co-workers.
- Use tact and courtesy to establish and maintain professional working relationships.
- Commitment to the mission of the community college and interest in involvement in department, division, and College initiatives.

MinimumQualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechatronics or technical related field in support of automated manufacturing production and/or at least three years of experience in maintenance or construction of automated manufacturing equipment is required.
- Knowledge of and experience with electricity, mechanical systems, pneumatics and hydraulics, motor controls, transformers, PLC and PLC programming, robot repair and programming, sensors, manufacturing process, quality control methods, computers, and local area networks is required.
- Experience in an automated industrial environment is required.
- High School or post-secondary teaching experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in training others is preferred;
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communications skills and ability to use independent judgement and function autonomously is required.
- Effective interaction with people from diverse backgrounds is required.
